Real-time Rendering

Real-Time Rendering Process

  • 1

It all begins with a meeting. We’ll cover desired art direction, discuss timelines, and the best software to be used on the project. We will also discuss if you prefer to work project-based, or a longer-term contract!

  • 2

I’ll ask for existing models, precedent images, material information, moodboard, etc. to make sure the model is developed efficiently.

  • 3

At this point, I’ll develop the 3D environment and send back draft cameras and lighting for your review.

  • 4

We’ll meet again to cover the progress and art direction of the project.

  • 5

After receiving feedback, I’ll apply remaining details to the project and send it back for your review.

  • 6

I’ll work through all edits and send you the final deliverables!

Environment Building

Sam uses Epic’s ecosystem including RealityScan and Quixel Megascans to develop a wide range of 3D environments.

Storytelling

Sam uses various techniques to convey a story. The way light moves through a space, the motion blur of an object, or perhaps the way a camera moves throughout a room. Let Sam help tell your stories through a creative lens.

Highlighting design

Good design deserves the spotlight. With real-time rendering, Sam has the ability to quickly produce vignettes and detailed imagery to accompany larger environments.

Frequently asked questions

  • Real-time rendering uses Graphic Processing Units, GPU, to produce a graphic in real time. Similar to a video game, the graphics can update quickly, creating a sense of motion based on user input. The speed and quality at which the graphics can be rendered is rapidly improving, lending itself to be an ideal immersive rendering solution for industries such as architecture, automotive, fashion, film and more.

  • Real-time technology is for any creator or business looking to visualize an idea. Have a product you want to create an image of? Perhaps a building, a car, an outfit, or a new product design. Or want to improve storytelling through film, animations, immersive experiences, or social media? Real-time rendering encompasses a wide range of product solutions making it possible for creators to create imagery and experiences faster than ever before so that workflows, timelines, and costs can improve.

  • Overall, real-time rendering can reduce costs, resources, and the amount of time it takes to launch a project due to its ability to create adaptable, high-quality immersive imagery quickly. Due to its speed and immersive quality, design workflows benefit by visualizing 3D designs at earlier stages improving communication and expectations. For production, the speed benefits creators by enabling non-destructive import workflows and the ability to produce multiple deliverables using one program. Deliverables include still images, animations, 360 panoramas, pixel-streaming browser experiences and more.

  • Typical offline rendering must be precomputed and rendered over an extended time period without user interaction. While offline rendering can offer high visual fidelity, the time needed for production can negatively affect workflows where adaptability and speed are important.
